Since the foundation of FC Twente in 1965, supporters association De Vriendenkring has given tremendous support to the club in many ways. In the future De Vriendenkring want to keep expanding themselves and want to keep supporting FC Twente in as many ways as they can.
On April 14th, 1966, De Vriendenkring FC Twente was officially founded. Activities were started before the opening of the association by some fanatic supporters of the club. These activities were mainly selling scarfs and hats in the beautiful red-white colours of the club. Over the years these activities were expanded.
Various LP's, singles and CD's were being sold. At the entrance of Het Diekman Stadion, many souvenirs were sold for many years. FC Twente was the first football club with their own house orchestra. De Diekmennekes could be found in Het Diekman for many years during home games as well as away games. By means of donations De Vriendenkring also supports FC Twente financially.
Supporters Association Vak-P
On February 18th 1991, supporters association Vak-P was established. The name Vak-P was already known before this time, in the early 1980's there was a young group of fans in section Q of Het Diekman. They wanted to separate themselves from the older fans and decided to move to the adjoining section P. In the years after that, more fans joined this growing group who show their pride for FC Twente.
One of the highlights of the history of the club, but also for the supporters association Vak-P, is the year 2001. Their 10th anniversary had to be celebrated with a big party. The most beautiful gift for the celebrating supporters association was the Dutch KNVB Cup that was won. The final, played in Rotterdam, was used as a perfect showcase for Vak-P to once again, show their pride for the club.
Like De Vriendenkring, Vak-P can also make use of their own 'home' where members can get together before and after home matches. The Ultras of Vak-P show their pride at home and away matches by showing unique and amazing atmospheric actions in the stadium. On this territory the supporters are among the frontrunners in the Netherlands.
